From 29th October to 6th November were held East Asian Games in Macau. Korea, China, Japan, Mongolia and Chinesse Taipei participated on this event. Soft tennis tournament was also part, as well as Aquatics, Athletics, Basketball, Bowling, Dance sport, Dragonboat, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Karate-do, Rowing, Shooting, Taekwondo, Tennis, Weightlifting and Wushu.
There were also for us very well known players, either from e xhibition in Brno or from international tournament in Hungary, started Japanesse Tsuneo Takagawa and Shineo Nakahari (3rd in men’s doubles), Yosuke Asagawa and Shuji Komine (quarterfinals in men’S doubles). In women’s competitions, Japanesse pair Harumi Gyokusen and Ayumi Ueshima wonn women’s doubles and Harumi Gyokusen even wonn women’s single tournament. Incumbent world champion Kanako Kono finished third in women’s single as well as in double.. From Korean players, the most successful was Park Jonk Suk, who was in quarterfinals in women’s doubles.
